N/R Paramount Chief for the Kusawgu traditional area urged his people to stop bush burning
KUSAWGU : 2018 DAMBA.
The Paramount Chief for the Kusawgu traditional area in the Central Gonja district of the Northern region his Royal Majesty Kusawguwura Samuel Sulemana Kunkarga has urged residents in his areas to stay way from the practices of bush burning.
According to Kusawguwura S : S Kunkarga foodstuffs in his area are sometimes burned away before the harvesting season which brings post harvest loses in his traditional area. He said this during the climax of his 2018 Damba celebration at Kusawgu in the Central Gonja district of the Savannah region.
The Paramount Chief mentioned cigarette smoking, hunting activities and Nomadic herds men as some of the causes of bush fire in Kusawgu traditional area.
He [ Kusawguwura ] advised farmers in Kusawgu traditional area to create farm belt around their farms against future misfortune.
On this year harmatan season Kusawguwura appealed to parents and guidaians in his traditional area to take proper care of their ward’s and other family members and stop exposing them to the harsh weather.
Kusawguwura S : S Kunkarga also used the occasion and appealed to his people to come out massively on 27th December and vote YES for the proposed Savannah region.
His [ KUSAWGUWURA ] 2018 Damba celebration brought together Chief’s and Opinion leaders and government officials.
