MOLE NATIONAL PARK has called on the general public to obey rules and regulations of the park. In a press statement the manager of the park said people enter there without permission.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF MOLE NATIONAL PARK LAWS

Management of the Mole National Park wishes to caution the general public, especially

timber contractors, their agents and equipment owners that per the Wildlife Reserves Regulation, LI.710 of 1971 that established the park, the following laws are in force:

1. The Mole National Park is a restricted area where ENTRY without permission

and accessing the park through unapproved entry points constitute unlawful acts.

2. Illegally bringing into the Park, any equipment or apparatus which may be used to hunt animals, destroy plants and/ or their habitat constitute an unlawful act.

3. Article 3 (2) of the law states: A Game Officer may seize and confiscate any equipment or apparatus brought into the park which is in the opinion of the Game Officer capable of being used to hunt, capture or destroy any animal or plant. Such equipment or apparatus may be disposed of in such manner as the Chief Game & Wildlife Officer think on view of the increasing invasion and destruction of the park by timber operators,

especially Rosewood contractors and their operatives, management of the Park has henceforth resolved to strictly enforce the following provisions in LI.710

without fear or favour:

a) Any person or persons caught in the park without approved entry permit(s) or entry through unapproved routes shall be arrested and prosecuted in the law court.

b) Any person or persons caught in the park engaged in logging, hauling of timber and poaching shall be arrested and prosecuted in the law court.

c) Any equipment (chain-saw, tractor, crane truck, haulage truck, firearm, etc.) Found in the park or suspected to be operating in the park shall be arrested and impounded by park authorities in accordance with Article 3 (2) of the Wildlife Reserves Regulation LI.710 of 1971.

d) Management of the Park is therefore advising the general public to take this caution seriously because there will not be compromises in the enforcement of the

law.
