N/R MP FOR YAPEI-KUSAWGU CONSTITUENCY DONATES HEALTH EQUIPMENT TO THE GHANA HEALTH SERVICE, CENTRAL GONJA DISTRICT.
The Member of Parliament for the Yapei-Kusawgu constituency in the northern region, Hon John Abdulai Jinapor yesterday, 6th December, 2018, donated 20 hospital beds and mattresses, 3 cabinets and a dental chair to the Ghana Health Service, Central Gonja District.
This was made in the wake of a call made by the GHS to key stakeholders to support the service with equipment to facilitate quality health delivery in the District.
The Directorate has since done an onward allocation of these equipment to some health facilities within the District as follows: 10 beds to Fufulso Health centre, 5 beds to Kusawgu Health centre 5 beds to Zanzugu CHPS compound.
The Fufulso Health Centre was part of the ancillary health facilities built under the 147.5km Fufulso-Damongo-Sawla road project. This came in addition to the small community water project under the same road project. The MP has on this occasion acknowledged the good works done by Former President Mahama with the provision of this health facility among others to the residents of fufulso and other areas within the Central Gonja District.
The MP in donating the items also said his move is part of a broader agenda to improve health delivery services in the constituency. He used the occasion to call on other stakeholders to support the Directorate in order to achieve a quality health delivery. He called on the people to bury their differences and focus on improving their lives and uniting to develop the district as a whole.
Hon Jinapor stressed that it was a collective responsibility of all to ensure health facilities with limited resources are well resourced with the necessary logistics and equipment to make the staff of the facilities deliver quality services to the people since health is one of the most essential service in the scale of social services.
On his part Dr. Daniel Duubik, the Central Gonja Director of Health said, the inadequate logistics and equipment in public institutions especially the health facilities make it difficult for health professionals to deliver quality services as expected to the citizenry.
He has by this delivery applauded the initiative taking by Hon Jinapor to assist the directorate and by extension the people of the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency. Dr Duubik used the occasion to urge the people of the District especially in remote areas to seek medical attention in these facilities other than resorting to unapproved means of medications.
The Assembly member of the area, Hon Mahama Yakubu, in his appreciation to the MP emphasized that, the legislator has the welfare of the people at heart and should be seen as a father to all and one to be proud of.
He therefore urged the people to rally their support behind the MP to also contribute his quota to the development agenda of the District and to Ghana at large.
