A/R Clean-up: DCE sanitises Atwima Nwabiagya North District

The District Chief Executive Officer for Atwima Nwabiagya North, Hon Rebecca Yeboah, has commenced a week-long sanitation exercise within her area of jurisdiction. The activity which is the first of its kind kick-started during the early hours of today 30th March 2019 at Asuofua-Asamang electoral area and has been programmed to cover all the remaining 16 electoral areas. The exercise according to the plan of the assembly will be carried out intermittently within all communities making up the various electoral areas on Saturdays.

Improving the local standard of sanitation

Speaking exclusively to this journalist on the sidelines at the time the exercise was in a full swing, Hon Rebecca stated clearly that the move in question was called to play following the abysmal standard of sanitation witnessed by the district.Dumping of refuse at unapproved areas, littering, choked drainage system, flood among other environmental challenges characterise a number of communities within the district, adding that before her assumption as the DCE, the condition of sanitation was totally an eyesore.

Ambition for cleanest district

Through her instrumentality, all the needed measures per her statement will be implemented to address the situation so as to help earn a reputation for the district as one of the cleanest in the region and beyond.She expressed her readiness to support President Akuffo Addo’s efforts towards ensuring that Ghana is well positioned vis-a-vis sanitation. The exercise witnessed a colourful attendance of scores of residents, Presiding Member Hon Ohemeng Prempeh, Staff of ISD, former and incumbent assembly men among other dignitaries.
